Andre J Drummond is a center for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA. Drummond was born on August 10th 1993 in Mount Vernon, New York. In high school, Drummond attended Capital Preparatory high school for his freshman and sophomore years. During his freshman year he averaged 12.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 blocks per game.  During his sophomore year he averaged 20.2 points, 16.6 rebounds, 7.2 blocks, and 4.5 steals per game. For his junior and senior years he attended St. Thomas More and was one of the best centers in the nation. Drummond had announced he was going to attend and play basketball at the University of Connecticut (UCONN). At UCONN Drummond started 30 of the 34 games during his freshmen year where he averaged 10.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game. Drummond’s college career ended in the NCAA tournament when UConn fell to the 8th seed Iowa State. About a month later Drummond announced he was going to enter the 2012 NBA draft.  Drummond was picked 9th overall by the Detroit pistons in the NBA draft. During his rookie year Drummond averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds 1.0 steal, and 1.6 blocks and was on the 2012-2013 all-rookie 2nd team. During Drummond’s second season he kept improving, including a career high 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 2 blocks against the Pelicans. He also recorded 17 points and 26 rebounds in a win over the Knicks.  During the 2014-15 season, Drummond averaged 13 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game and a game against Miami where he had a career high 32 points.  Drummond had has a great career so far. I can’t wait to see where he goes from here!
