kemba Walker has proved he is a an elite player in the league today. He proved himself even more Saturday night after putting up 60 point against the 76ers.
The 76ers recently acquired Jimmy Butler and coming into his 3rd game with the 76ers he was 0-11 on game tying/ go-ahead shots, he ended that streak tonight with a game stopping block and a 3 to take the win.
But Kemba still put up a tough show for the 76ers on Saturday night with an incredible 60 points, with 4 steals and 4 assist, breaking the record for most points by a player in Hornets history. The Hornets ended up losing 122-119 in OT.
Entering tonight, Jimmy Butler was 0-11 on game-tying or go-ahead shots in the final 10 seconds since the start of last season. That was the most misses without a make in the NBA.
The Pistons came into the season with very low expectations and were not expected to have a good season, but after 13 games, the Piston have proved the majority of NBA fans wrong.
Detroit is 2nd in the east with a 10-3 record and has been lead by multiple players to get where they are, one of them being Tobias Harris who has averaged 20.1 ppg so far this season. Another big surprise to me was Drummond. Drummond has had over 12 rebounds in all 13 NBA games this season and leads the league in rebounds. Many Pistons fans, including me, were hoping Drummond would get traded, but it looks like the Pistons made the right choice to keep him, as he has played with more confidence and has had a better free throw percentage.
This offseason, the Pistons picked up shooting guard, Avery Bradley, who has also made a big difference in the Pistons gameplay. Getting Avery was a great move and has definitely improved our defense.
But are the Pistons a legit team? In my opinion, I think yes. I’m a Pistons fan, so you probably thinking this is all biased, but with all that aside, I think the Pistons can make it to the playoffs for sure
The No. 1 vs the No. 2 team… It doesn’t get much better than that. The Duke Blue Devils will be facing the Michigan State Spartans in a college basketball battle that will be taking place in Chicago for the Champions Classic. Tuesday’s matchup will be only the 42nd 1 v 2 college basketball game of all time.
Michigan State and Duke both have some of the best players in the country, but there are two that specifically stand out: Grayson Allen, out of Duke, and Miles Bridges, out of MSU. Both players are contenders for player of the year and could be game changers on Tuesday night.
I’m a big Michigan State fan so of course, I’m going to have to go with MSU on this one mostly because I have lots of confidence in Miles and I expect him to have at least a 20 point game.
Warriors guard, Stephen Curry, and Warriors forward, Kevin Durant were both ejected late in Saturday nights game against Memphis.
The 2 time MVP, Stephen Curry was ejected for throwing his mouth Gaurd after he took some contact and there was no call. The ref assumed he was throwing his mouth guard at him so he ejected Curry right away. Durant quickly went to the ref and said some words before getting ejected.
When Curry was asked about the incident, Curry was quick to answer to ESPN with “I didn’t throw my mouthpiece at the ref, I got better aim than that. I threw it out of frustration.”
Curry finished the game with 37 points and tweeted after the game about the incident:
No excuse for that! Gotta remember who I am playing for…
The Detroit Rapper, Eminem, was at the Detroit Pistons Little Ceasers Arena Debut after the Pistons spent almost 40 years playing in the suburbs of Detroit.
Eminem was given the mic, for a pre-game speech and had a chance to say something to all the Pistons Fans. Eminem Hyped up Detroit by saying “Detroit, welcome them back for the first time in over 40 years to our city, to my city, to your city! Make some noise for the Detroit Pistons. Let’s go!”
Big Sean was also at the game, who got to hang out with Eminem where they got a chance to get their picture taken:
Eminem came in repping his Pistons gear with a blue Pistons shirt in the Piston win on Wednesday night. Check out the video of Eminem giving his speech at LCA:
The Pistons have made some changes to their team this offseason and lots of people are doubting the Pistons and the changes they’ve been making.
The Pistons lost 2 of their starters, Marcus Morris to a trade, and KCP was a free agent who signed with the Lakers. The Marcus Morris trade was pretty even, The Celtics got Marcus Morris and the Pistons got Avery Bradley, who is one of the top defensive players in the league.
As a Pistons fan, I am not so sure that they will make the playoffs but if they do, here are the top 3 reasons the Pistons will make the playoffs.
1.Luke Kennard will win rookie of the year
The Pistons rookie Luke Kennard is expected to have a pretty good season but my prediction is he’ll be rookie of the year and will lead the Pistons to the playoffs
2. Andre Drummond Will Be An All-Star Again
Two years ago when the Pistons made the playoffs, Andre had a pretty good season and lead the Pistons to the playoffs, but since then it seems like he isn’t enjoying playing on the Pistons. I think he will possibly bounce back.
3. Stanley Johnson will be comeback player of the year
I’ve had high hopes for Stanley Johnson and I believe he will have a pretty good season and start the majority of the games.
